CrimLawDocs ("Service") takes steps to safeguard your privacy. This policy explains how your data is collected, used, shared, and protected when using the Service.
Service Clarification: CrimLawDocs provides a web-based document organization framework and automation tool. We do not provide legal content, advice, or arguments - only the technological platform for users to organize and generate their own legal documents.
Account Information: Name, email, and details you provide during sign-up.
Usage Data: Technical details (e.g., IP address, browser type, pages visited, document types generated) to improve the Service.
Cookies: Small data files stored on your device to improve service functionality and user experience.
User-Generated Content: Document content, case information, and other data you input into the system. The Service is designed for routine document templates and organizational purposes. Users should not upload highly confidential or attorney-client privileged information.
Payment Information: Billing details processed through secure third-party payment processors.
Service Functionality: Authenticate accounts, process payments, and enable document generation features.
Service Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to improve the platform.
Communication: Send updates, billing notices, and security alerts.
Compliance: Use or disclose data as required by law or to enforce terms.
Support: Provide technical assistance when requested.
Technical Storage: The database temporarily stores information you enter to enable the Service's functionality. This is necessary for the web application to operate and generate your documents.
User Ownership: You retain full ownership and control of all content you input. The Service Provider does not claim ownership of your data or use it for any purpose beyond providing the technical framework.
Data Export: You can export your data at any time through the account settings or by manually generating documents.
No Content Sharing: Your document content and case information are never shared with third parties without your explicit instruction or a separate written agreement.
Service Providers: We use specific third-party services: Stripe for credit card payment processing, DigitalOcean for hosting, and standard banking systems for ACH transfers. These providers may have access to relevant data (payment info, technical data) solely to provide their services, under strict confidentiality agreements.
Legal Requirements: Disclose as required by law.
The Service implements standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for data transmission, secure hosting infrastructure, and access controls to protect your data. However, no internet-based service can guarantee complete security.
Account Data: Account information and user-generated content are retained while your subscription is active.
Subscription Cancellation: When you cancel your subscription, you retain access until the end of your current billing period. After your subscription expires, your account becomes inactive but all user-generated content remains in our systems for 30 days in case you choose to reactivate your subscription.
Manual Data Deletion: If you want your data deleted when you cancel, you can manually delete it before cancelling using the office settings page and backup management features.
User-Initiated Deletion: You may request immediate deletion of your data at any time by contacting support at support@crimlawtech.com.
Pre-Cancellation Export: Export any data you wish to keep before canceling by manually generating documents or using the Local Backup feature to download your data.
System Backups: System backups may contain historical data and are used only for system recovery purposes, not for accessing customer data.
This policy may be updated. Continued use of the Service signifies acceptance of updates.
